About the Artist

I find that I enjoy nurturing my creative spirit ... and keeping my scientific mind as sharp as my scissors! I have always been a "creator," and I find that using the creative side of my brain is a wonderful complement to my scientific and practical side.

My scientific nature comes forward when I am a Nurse educator at HACC. I obtained my Masters Degree in Nursing from the University of Delaware, and it's in teaching and helping others that I find a definite sense of satisfaction.

On the other hand, my creative nature is strengthened because I am a juried member of the Yellow Breeches chapter of the PA Guild of Craftsmen and a member of the Crochet Guild of America.

I am also a founding member of the Harrisburg Area Chapter of the CGOA. Attending the CGOA convention the past three years has enabled me to study under some of the greatest fiber artists in the world, and that experience has broadened my vision and enabled me to finesse my technique.

Life is too short not to enjoy the wonderful colors that surround us, and as much as I love yarn, I am always finding new and unusual colors and textures to use in my creations. I enjoy making women's clothing and accessories that are functional, practical, eye-catching and fun to wear. I design most of the items that I make, and I have hand-crafted every item that I sell.

I believe that people enjoy having, wearing and using items that are designed and made by hand. Our Pennsylvania heritage is based on crafting fabrics this way, and as a resident of Lemoyne, Pennsylvania and living in PA all of my adult life, I've grown up around this tradition and blended that custom with my own art.
